Ukraine increases minimum export prices of corn and wheat

According to ministry data released on Thursday, Ukraine's Farm Ministry has increased the minimum export price for corn and wheat, two of the country's most important agricultural commodities.

In December, Ukraine implemented a new system of exporting key agricultural goods, including grain, which means that consignments cannot be shipped at prices lower than those set by Ukraine's agriculture ministry.

According to data from the ministry, the minimum price of wheat for export has increased from $146 per metric tonne FOB in March to $201 in April. The minimum price of corn has also increased from $140 to $185 per metric tonne FOB.

Since their introduction in Decembre, minimum prices have remained largely unchanged.

The ministry did not give a reason for the price increases, but the prices are calculated based on data from the state customs service, the delivery terms for the month before, and a 10% discount.

Ukraine is one of the world's leading grain exporters and has shipped over 33,4 million tons of different grains overseas so far during the season from July 2024 through June 2025. (Reporting and editing by Mark Potter.)
