Data shows that a tanker is linked to berths sanctioned by a firm at Russia's Arctic LNG 2 facility.

Ship tracking data revealed that a liquefied gas (LNG), tanker owned by an Indian firm, which was sanctioned last month by the United States for helping Russia in its war against Ukraine, berthed Friday at the Arctic LNG 2, a Russian LNG plant.

LSEG data shows the Everest Energy parked at the plant, and its arrival confirms that the plant continues to export LNG.

The tanker was managed by Mumbai's Ocean Speedstar Solutions OPC. They did not respond immediately to a comment request.

Novatek, which owns 60% of the Arctic LNG 2 project and is also a party to Western sanctions, has been sanctioned for its involvement in Russia's conflict in Ukraine. The project was set to be Russia's biggest LNG plant, with a total output of 19,8 million metric tonnes of LNG per year from three trains.

Everest Energy previously received cargo from Arctic LNG 2 according to Kpler. The data firm said that it was loaded in August and discharged on the 29th of August at a floating storage facility in Murmansk (north Russia).

Kpler data shows that Ocean Speedstar Solutions has also recently managed two other tankers.

Asya Energy's tanker, which picked up cargo from Arctic LNG 2 in August and discharged it at Murmansk in September 4, was operated by Asya Energy. A tanker named Pioneer also loaded cargo on August 1.

Pioneer, after picking up cargo, was seen transferring to a tanker named New Energy located north of the Suez Canal.

New Energy is managed by Plio Energy Cargo Shipping and owned by Gotik Energy Shipping Co, both based in Mumbai. Both entities were sanctioned by the U.S. on Thursday. The firms could not be reached for comment.
