Iran opens the Hormuz Strait to all ships except those with a 'traitorous' connection

Iran's representative to the U.N. maritime agency, quoted in Iranian media on Sunday, said that the Strait of Hormuz remains open to all ships except those linked to "Iran’s enemies".

A 'global energy crisis' is at risk due to the threat of Iranian attacks in the U.S. and Israel war against Iran. The narrow strait is the conduit for a fifth or so of the world’s oil and gas.

Ali?Mousavi stated that Tehran is ready to work with the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) to improve maritime security and protect seafarers within the Gulf. He added?that vessels not associated with "Iran's enemy" can pass through the strait if they coordinate their safety and security arrangements with Tehran.

"Diplomacy ?remains ?Iran's priority. Mousavi added that a complete cessation in aggression, as well as mutual trust and confidence, were more important. The "root" of the current crisis in the Strait of Hormuz was the attacks against Iran. (Reporting and editing by William Mallard; Dubai Newsroom)
