Norway's Troll Gas Field extends partial shutdown until May 31

A compressor failure has caused Equinor to extend a partial gas outage in Norway's Troll field until May 31, according to a Gassco website filing.

Since May 21, when Troll's annual stop-start test of one day was conducted, Europe's largest natural gas field has experienced outages of varying scope.

The regulatory filing revealed that the gas production would be reduced from Monday, May 26, to Friday, May 30, at 0400 GMT by 34.6 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d), leaving a residual output of 90 mcm/d.

Separate filings showed that an outage planned for May 30 through May 31 ending at 0400 GMT Saturday was 16.2 mcm/d.

The Equinor field operator did not respond immediately to a comment request. (Reporting and editing by Terje Solsvik, Nora Buli)
