Shell and Singapore Port Authority contain pipeline leak

Major energy business Shell and Singapore's Maritime and Port Authority released cleanup procedures after a leak from a landbased pipeline, they stated on Sunday.

The MPA stated in a statement it was alerted at around 1 p.m. ( 0500 GMT) to the oil spill in between Bukom and Bukom Kecil islands that had occurred at around 5.30 a.m.

It stated the leakage was reported to have stopped at the source and there was no effect to navigation safety.

A Shell spokesperson verified the leakage at the Shell Energy and Chemicals Park and stated emergency situation response professionals had been sent out to handle the scenario.

The MPA said Shell has put containment booms off the website of the leakage and released craft equipped with dispersants to clean up oil sighted in the vicinity.

The port authority likewise deployed 7 of its vessels, as well as drones and satellites to help find the oil spill, it stated.
