Indian carrier SpiceJet restructures dues to Carlyle Air travel

India's SpiceJet on Friday stated it will convert about $97 million of its dues to the business air travel investment and servicing arm of Carlyle Group into equity and debentures.

The restructuring plan comes as the budget plan airline company has had a hard time to fully restore operations despite numerous fundraises over the in 2015.

Late last month, the country's air travel watchdog placed SpiceJet under improved security after a recent audit exposed certain shortages.

The provider on Friday stated it entered into a contract with Carlyle Air travel Management to restructure particular airplane lease obligations of about $137.68 million, as of June 30, which upon settlement or waivers will be gotten used to $97.51 million.
