AirBaltic will wait till first half of 2025 for IPO at the earliest

AirBaltic's initial public offering is now expected at the earliest in the first half of 2025, its president informed Reuters on Monday, as the airline's consultants suggest it waits on market conditions in the European airline company sector to enhance.

The airline will rather consider its IPO timing for when the multiples of European airline companies, if they would increase, if there's a much better outlook for European airlines, Martin Gauss told Reuters.

That means the timing might extend into the 2nd half of next year, and even later on.

European airline companies have had problem with supply chain delays, labour disruption, surging rates and limitations to airspace this year, with lots of reporting weaker than expected financial results.

Formerly, airBaltic said it would think about an IPO for the second half of 2024.

A statement of its pre-IPO financier could come earlier, Gauss informed Reuters, and technically, could still be this month.

Reuters formerly reported that

Lufthansa

was one of the business in talks for a tactical investment in the Latvian airline company.
