In a cooperation agreement, Poland opens the way for Finland to supply green hydrogen in Poland

On Tuesday, Poland took a step towards importing green hydrogen from Finland. The agreement was signed between the state-controlled fuel company Orlen and 3 Finnish energy companies.

In the face of the war in Ukraine, Poland wants to diversify its sources of energy and increase political and economic security. It also wants to implement a strategy to guarantee low-emission fuels.

At a signing event, Wojciech?Balczun, the Polish Minister of State Assets said: "This is a very important issue in terms of energy independence and good technology development."

Orlen signed a cooperation agreement with three Finnish companies, ABO Energy Suomi and Nordic Ren-Gas. The agreement?concerns production and supply green hydrogen.

The?Polish Ministry of Assets released a press statement stating that the partners would also work together to define the logistical conditions for the transport of 'hydrogen and its derivatives' from Finland to Orlen Group refineries and chemical plants in Poland.
