South Korea's FLC purchased about 65,000 T of feed wheat, traders claim

The Feed Leaders Committee of South Korea (FLC) purchased approximately 65,000 metric tonnes of animal feed wheat from the United States and other countries in a private transaction without launching an international tender.

Wheat was estimated to have cost $264.25 per ton, c&f. Plus a $1.50 surcharge per ton for port deloading. Cargill was thought to be the seller.

If the shipment comes from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, it will arrive in South Korea in 2025 around February 20. Traders said that Russia, Argentina and Pakistan are not acceptable origins.

The purchase of feed wheat by South Korean importer NOFI on Thursday was the first step in this deal.

The reports reflect the assessments of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later. Michael Hogan is reporting.
