South Korean mills buy 50,000 T wheat from U.S., traders state

A group of South Korean flour mills purchased an estimated 50,000 metric lots of wheat to be sourced from the United States in a tender on Tuesday, European traders said.

The purchase included a series of different wheat types for delivery in 2025 between Feb. 10 and March 10 and was all made on FOB (totally free on board) terms.

The purchase made up soft white wheat with 9.5-11% protein content purchased in the high $220s a ton FOB, soft white wheat with 9% optimum protein bought in the low $230s, hard red winter wheat with 11.5% protein bought in the mid $240s a lot and northern spring wheat with 14% protein purchased in the low $ 270s a ton, traders said.

Reports reflect assessments from traders and further quotes of prices and volumes are still possible later.
