Vopak starts workplace in Japan for storage of energy shift fuels

Dutch tank storage firm Vopak has opened a brand-new office in Tokyo, Japan, to supply terminal facilities options for a range of items to be used in the country's energy transition, it said on Wednesday.

Vopak has actually been working on strategic collaborations to explore the advancement and operation of ammonia terminals in Japan, and to bring worldwide practices for commercial terminal management to the nation, Chris Robblee, Vopak's president of Asia and Middle East, said in a declaration.

The Tokyo workplace will focus on the safe handling and storage of hydrogen and hydrogen derivatives, such as ammonia, which is an option to nonrenewable fuel sources in thermal power generation, Vopak stated.

The business will also provide infrastructure options for co2, liquefied gas, long-duration energy storage, and low-carbon fuels and feedstock - fuels that will be used to fulfill Japan's 2050 decarbonisation objectives.
