Slovakia to go into speak to buy three C-390 aircraft, Brazil's Embraer states

Slovakia will start talks in January for the purchase of three C390 Millennium aircraft, Brazilian planemaker Embraer stated on Tuesday, making it the current NATO member country to eye the military cargo design.

Slovakia is targeting the C-390 due to the potential advantages in training, logistics and cooperation in developing military fleets with surrounding nations which have already obtained the aircraft, Embraer stated in a declaration.

Portugal and Hungary currently fly the C-390, while the Netherlands, Austria, the Czech Republic and Sweden have likewise acquired the airplane.

The announcement comes as Slovak Prime Minister Roberto Fico is on a visit to Brasilia.

Earlier in the day, Brazil's defense ministry signed an agreement with its Slovak counterpart to motivate more detailed industrial cooperation in between the two countries, Embraer stated.
