Jordan purchases approximately 60,000 T of wheat at tender, traders claim

In an international auction held on Tuesday, Jordan's state grain buyer bought about 60,000 metric tonnes of hard milling whey from optional origins.

They said that it was estimated to have been purchased from Al Dahra for $269 per ton, including freight (c&f), with shipment scheduled to begin in the first half February 2025.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.

The traders said that they have received indications Jordan is planning to issue a tender for 120,000 tonnes of wheat in the coming days. Offers are expected to be submitted by Nov. 19. Shipping will take place in 2025 during the second half January, the entire month of February, and the first half March.

The following are the estimated offers made by other trading houses in the Tuesday tender, all per ton: CHS $273.50; Viterra $278; Ameropa 279.11; and Cereal Crops 292.

On Wednesday, a separate Jordanian tender for 120,000 tons animal feed barley will close. Michael Hogan, Mark Potter and Michael Hogan (reporting)
