Traders say that Tunisia has received offers for 125,000 T of soft wheat tender.

Initial assessments by European traders suggest that the lowest price in Tuesday's international tender for up to 125,000 tons of soft wheat from Tunisia was $262.88 cost and freight included per ton.

They said that the lowest wheat bid was submitted by Bulgarian Trading House Buildcom, for two consignments each of 25,000 tonnes.

No purchase has been made yet, but offers are still being evaluated. If the conditions are not attractive, then it is unlikely that the lowest offer will be accepted.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is possible to estimate prices and volume later.

Five consignments of 25,000 tonnes are required. They said that the shipment was made between Nov. 10, and Dec. 25 depending on which origins were selected.

Builders said that Buildcom offered two consignments of 25,000 tons for different shipping periods, both at $263.88 per ton c&f. The lowest price was $264 per ton c&f for the final consignment of 25,000 tons offered by Dreyfus Trading House.

In recent weeks, the market has been focused on unofficial Russian measures to reduce Russia's massive grain exports. These include indicative minimum prices for exports to be offered through tenders.

The lowest price offered in the tender held by Tunisia on Tuesday, according to traders, was $266.83 per ton c&f. However, other trading companies may have offered Russian wheat.

Tunisia's last soft wheat tender was on September 19, when it purchased 125,000 tons of the grain at a price of $245.83 per ton c&f. Prices of Black Sea supplies since then have increased partly due to Russia's efforts to limit exports in order to cool down domestic flour prices. Reporting by Michael Hogan, editing by Jason Neely
