Nigeria signs airplane maintenance and safety deal with Boeing

Nigeria on Thursday announced the signing of a memorandum of comprehending with Boeing that will boost Nigerian airlines' capability to lease new airplane and get maintenance and technical assistance.

Boeing, which supplies 60 airline companies with 500 airplanes throughout Africa, forecasts the continent will require 1,170 aircrafts over the next two decades.

The MOU signed in Seattle on Wednesday by Nigerian air travel minister Festus Keyamo and Boeing executives will see the maker supply preparation workshops, training, technical support and evaluations to Nigerian airline company operators.

Under the regards to the MOU, Boeing Airports Engineering team will provide assessment to open or broaden airport capabilities throughout Nigeria and use advisory services on the advancement of local aircraft maintenance centers.

This collaboration with Boeing represents a substantial milestone in our efforts to modernise and boost the abilities of Nigerian airlines, Keyamo said.

Boeing vice president of Commercial Sales for Africa Anbessie Yitbarek stated the arrangement is a crucial step in developing a sustainable civil aviation ecosystem in Nigeria.
