South Korean transport minister prepares to resign over nation's worst air crash

South Korea's. transport minister said on Tuesday he means to step down to. take duty for the lethal crash of a Boeing jet. run by Jeju Air on Dec. 29.

Air security experts have said the embankment, developed to. prop up the localizer antenna utilized to direct landings in bad. visibility, was too stiff and too near to the end of the. runway.

Joo Jong-wan, the deputy transportation minister for civil. air travel, acknowledged that precaution were not sufficient. when building the embankment, however said they were done in line. with guidelines in Korea and overseas.
