Singapore's port authority reports that two bulk carriers collided in China's Yangtze River.

The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore said that two bulk carriers collided on the Yangtze River in China, but added that there were no reported injuries among the crew.

Mitsui O.S.K., a Japanese company, owns and operates Vega Dream. Lines collided on December 30 with Yangze 22, a bulk carrier flying under Singaporean flag. Both vessels were stable, according to the MPA.

Yangze 22, whose collision-damaged hull spilled approximately 9 metric tons of fuel oil, it was reported. Singapore's Port Authority said that the vessel is now stationed in Hengsha Anchorage to assess damage.

Officials of Mitsui O.S.K. Lines was not available to comment immediately.

In a press release, the MPA stated that the Shanghai Maritime Safety Administration has cleaned up the fuel oil spillage with the help of several support vessels deployed by Yangze 22.
