Poland's Grupa Azoty to evaluate polymer organization alternatives with Orlen

Stateowned Polish chemicals firm Grupa Azoty said on Thursday it had signed a letter of intent with Poland's top refiner Orlen to evaluate tactical alternatives for its polymers company.

Grupa Azoty stated the celebrations would intend to make choices relating to possible transactions in the field of polymers, with specific emphasis on Grupa Azoty Polyolefins, which is implementing the Polimery Cops task in which Orlen holds a. 17.3% stake.

In addition, the analysis will consist of activity associated to. the production and sale of caprolactam and polyamide 6, and the. sea port in Gdansk, Grupa Azoty stated.

The decision to sign a letter of intent with Orlen was also. preceded by a detailed review of organization chances. Orlen. is one of our most important trading partners, Grupa Azoty CEO. Adam Leszkiewicz stated in a statement.

Our primary objectives consist of the complete industrial launch of the. Polimery Police financial investment. Analyses of Polimery (...) have. validated the validity of our idea of trying to find a company. partner for the task. (...) And now together with Orlen we. will evaluate potential synergies, he added.

The Polimery Police project is an integrated chemical. complex consisting of a transhipment and storage terminal, a. gas dehydrogenation center, a polypropylene production. center, polypropylene logistics infrastructure, along with. auxiliary systems and interconnections.
