Taiwan bids on 80,000 T of wheat with U.S. origin

European traders reported on Wednesday that the Taiwan Flour Millers' Association had issued an international bid to buy an estimated 80,000 tons of grade one milling wheat from the United States.

The deadline to submit price offers for the tender is November 21.

The tender is looking for a variety of wheat types to be shipped in two consignments of 40,000 tonnes each from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast in 2025.

They said that one consignment would be shipped between Jan. 20-Feb. 3. The second consignment was to be shipped between February 11 and 25.

The types of wheat sought are dark northern spring, red winter and white soft wheat.

The tenders of the association provide a good indication of U.S. export prices to Asian markets. (Reporting and editing by Jason Neely; Michael Hogan)
