Taiwan bids on 102,450 T of wheat estimated to be U.S. origin

European traders reported on Thursday that the Taiwan Flour Millers' Association had issued an international bid to buy an estimated 102.450 metric tons grade 1 milling grain to be sourced in the United States.

The deadline to submit price offers for the tender is February 20.

The bidders are looking for a variety of wheat types in two consignments to be shipped from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast.

They said that a consignment of 51 700 tons was needed for shipment between the dates of April 13 and April 27.

A second consignment weighing 50,750 tonnes was requested for shipment between 1 May and 15 May.

The types of wheat sought are dark northern spring, red winter, and soft white.

The Association's tenders provide a good indication of the U.S. export price for wheat to Asian markets. (Reporting and editing by Michael Hogan)
