South Korea's FLC offers to purchase up to 69,000 T of corn, traders claim

European traders reported on Wednesday that the Feed Leaders Committee of South Korea (FLC) had issued an international tender for purchase between 52,000 and 69,000 metric tonnes of animal feed corn.

The deadline to submit price offers for the tender is Wednesday, February 26. Arrival is expected in one shipment around May 30.

Shipping is requested between April 16 and May 15 for shipments originating from the U.S. Pacific Northwest Coast, between March 27 to April 25 if the shipment originates from the U.S. Gulf coast, between February 22-April 20 from South America or between April 1-30 if the shipment originates from South Africa.

Traders reported that Asian buyers were sparked by the Chicago corn futures falling to three-week lows Tuesday due to U.S. Tariff tensions and improved weather forecasts for South American crop areas. Separately the Korea Feed Association bought an estimated 65,000 tonnes of feed corn that was expected to come from the United States on Tuesday in a private transaction without issuing an official international tender, traders reported.
