Taiwan's MFIG purchases about 65,000 T of corn from Brazil, traders claim

European traders reported that the MFIG group of Taiwan bought 65,000 metric tonnes of animal feed corn from Brazil at an international auction on Wednesday.

The seller is believed to be CJ International, a trading house.

They said that the yellow corn was bought at a premium estimated to be 165.90 U.S. dollars per bushel, cost and freight included (c&f), over Chicago's December 2025 corn contract.

The reports reflect the opinions of traders, and it is still possible to estimate prices and volume later.

The lowest price for U.S. Corn was 175.00 cents per ton over Chicago December, according to traders. This offer was made by Agrex Trading for 65,000 tonnes.

The lowest offer for Argentine Corn was 180.45 cents above Chicago December, according to trading house ADM.

The tender was dominated by corn from the U.S.A. and Brazil. Seven trading companies each offered 65,000 tonnes of corn from the U.S.; six offered 65,000 from Brazil, and two offered 65,000 from Argentina. There were no offers for South African corn.

Traders said that if corn was sourced from Brazil, Argentina, or the U.S. Gulf coast, shipment would be between July 21 and September 9. If the corn is sourced from South Africa or the Pacific Northwest Coast of the U.S., then shipment was requested between August 5-24.

The MFIG group purchased approximately 65,000 tons corn in its last tender, which was reported on April 29. This corn is expected to come from the United States. (Reporting and editing by Nivedita Battacharjee; Michael Hogan)
