Taiwan bids for 95,450 T of wheat from US origin

European traders reported on Wednesday that the Taiwan Flour Millers' Association had issued an international tender for an estimated 95.450 metric tons grade 1 milling grain to be purchased from the United States.

The deadline to submit price bids in the tender is Friday, June 12.

The bidder is looking for two consignments of wheat from the Pacific Northwest Coast in the United States.

A consignment weighing 47,050 tonnes was requested for shipment from August 9 to 23. Another consignment weighing 48,400 tons, was also sought for shipment in the period between August 27 to September 10.

The types of wheat sought are dark northern spring, red winter, and soft white.

Tuesday, the price of corn fell to its lowest level in over a week as traders reported that early harvest delays in Russia and a drought there were overshadowed by improved crop conditions in the U.S. and increased seasonal pressure.

The association's bids provide a reliable snapshot of U.S. Wheat export prices on Asian markets. The association's last tender was on May 8th.
